Homemade Racetrack Birthday Cake
I made this Racetrack Birthday Cake for my son's 4th birthday. He is a huge fan of Disney Cars so I wanted to make a racetrack using all his favorite characters. The cake was very easy to make and not so time consuming.
I baked two 13 inch cakes and used some scraps from a loaf cake I had to add a wedge to the middle making the circle form more of a figure 8. I used whipped icing that I bought in a box from Walmart, one box was plenty! I iced the cakes then took Oreos and placed them around the bottom of the cake.
I made a figure 8 with a knife and placed M&M's around to make a "track"- sprinkles to make a road and edible grass. The grandstand was made out of rice krispie treats rolled in fondant.
