Homemade Racing Car Cake
I used a Betty Crocker choc cake mix for this one. I drew (well my husband drew) a shape of a racing car on baking paper and I placed it on the cake and cut out the shape. I then sculpted the sides and cut the cake in half longways and added butter cream to the middle.
The rest of the Racing Car Cake is fondant icing shaped and placed to dry over night. The spokes for the wheels are toothpicks coloured in with a licorice icing colour pen. The numbers are cut out with cookie cutters and the head is icing shaped into a ball and another little bit with ivory and baby pink colouring (just a tiny bit of each).
This cake was quite easy compared with what I thought it was going to be. Definitely worth a try.
