Homemade Ragetty Ann Cake
This Ragetty Ann Cake was made from a doll pan, but was then decorated using RAGETTY ANN looks. I also made a Ragetty Ann doll to match the cake colors. The hair was made from red licorice (thin peelable strips).
For the red stripes on her stockings I used licorice, which was also used for her hair. It was the thin, long strips of peely licorice. I did use eye discs, though my first cake made for 1st granddaughter, I did use black candy discs.
The eyebrows were made from thin black licorice which resembled the actual stitching done on the original dolls. Since black frosting is often very bitter, I used black colored sugar for the feet. Small red candies were used on the dress to appear like the small ladybugs in the real dress design.
The white apron was made with buttercreme frosting, and thicker licorice was used for the rick rack. It was a lot of fun to make and my granddaughter sure did enjoy it!
