Homemade Retro Barbie Cake
I started making cakes about 7 months ago. I have never taken a class and am totally self taught. I have only worked with fondant 3 time now so I was delighted with how this cake turned out.
I made this Retro Barbie Cake for a great friend of mine. She was turning 35 and always wanted a Barbie cake as a child and never got one! She also always wanted a money cake and never got one so the cake is filled with money wrapped in tin foil for a surprise! I know her well so it is a custom cake for her personality. Her favorite color is blue, she loves circles and she loves anything retro. She has long dark hair so the barbie pic suits her as well! It is butter cream underneath and fondant on the top. The blue icing color is royal blue.
