Homemade Rolie Polie Olie Cake

This is my first fondant cake. I made this Rolie Polie Olie cake for my father in-law so that I could practice making and using marshmallow fondant.

I used a chocolate cake mix and made 2- 8 inch rounds. I then froze the cakes overnight and trimmed one so that his body would be smaller.

I made his feet, hands, shoulders, and eyes out of rice krispie treats. I coated everything in butter cream first and then covered the cake in the marshmallow fondant. The arms, legs and antenna are made of black licorice.

This cake was a lot of fun to make and I will definitely be making fondant again!
