I made this round church anniversary cake for a couple who’s anniversary it was. The couple were married in the Round Church Bowmore Isle of Islay 25 years ago and wanted something special.
The cake was two round sponge each 10″ for the base and then another 10″ was shaped for the roof. All the windows were made from icing and painted with edible colors. The Island has nine distilleries and Bowmore being where the couple were both from I decided to add some miniature whiskey as a special touch. The miniatures and glasses sit next to the cake which gave it that extra Bowmore theme.
The cake did not get eaten on the night as the couple didn’t want to cut it up so it sat in the hall on a table in front view of 200 guests and was taken home with the couple at the end of the night. The couple were very excited and pleased with the cake and many people took pics of it. I was happy with the cake as I am only a year into decorating without any classes.
