Coolest Rubber Ducky Cake 45

This Rubber Ducky cake I made for my friend’s baby shower. I started with a 14″ round cake for the bottom and the 3D rubber ducky cake pan from Wilton. I cut a piece of cardboard to slightly larger than the bottom of the duck and placed it in the middle of the cake. I cut skewers to the width of the cake and stuck them under the cardboard to keep it from sinking.

I iced it roughly (making sure to cover the cardboard) and used a spray on colouring making sure to leave some white so it would look like water. Then I piped the grass and the flowers along the edges. I put the duck on top of the cardboard and stuck more skewers into the duck (through the cardboard and into the slab cake) to keep him in place.

Then I iced the duck. Just remember to remove all of the skewers before you serve the cake!
