Homemade Saturn Cake And Moon Crater Cake

My soon to be five year old grandson was totally into anything Space related. So I found this wonderful website and ended up making him both a crater moon cake and a Saturn cake for his 5th birthday. I've never attempted anything like this before so I was so happy with the outcome.

I ended up finding a "sports ball" cake pan, each half ended up being the moon and then Saturn. I think they came out pretty good for a first attempt.
