Homemade Shamu Whale Cake
I made this Shamu Whale Cake for my little sister after she went to San Diego and saw the Shamu whale show five times. I used a chocolate cake mix. I used a 13x9 cake pan and cut out the torso and tail separately before I stuck them together. Black food dye was a little tough, but I found some at a craft store. I know it looks more like a humpback than Shamu the Killer whale, but it was cute and a huge hit at her party!
I assembled this on a large cookie sheet and put blue construction paper with waves drawn on underneath it for a cute water effect. Then I used sprinkles for the eyelashes and middle of the eye and that's about it. It was a very very simple cake, but a whole lot of fun to make and almost a shame to eat!
