I made this Shoe Birthday Cake for my sister’s birthday. It is a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream filling. The top and sides of the cake is iced in chocolate buttercream. I then coloured some sugarpaste pink and a very small amount lilac.
I drew the outline of the shoe out onto the pink sugar paste and cutout. I cut out a hole where the insole is and the traced round that shape on to the lilac and then put the lilac into the hole. I then lightly drew the detail on to the shoe using a small knife. I painted some food glitter on to the outside of the shoe and then stuck the shoe on to the cake. I pushed two silver balls into the bottom of the heal.
I made the letters using a cutter. The base of the cake has a band of pink sugar paste around it and silver balls pushed in every inch.
