Homemade Snake Cake 28

I was so thankful to find photos on this site of how to start this snake cake.

I used 4 bundt cakes - one strawberry, one chocolate, one vanilla and another vanilla to cut apart and shape the head and tail. I cut them in half and alternated them into this shape. I just used a bread knife to cut the one extra bundt cake into the head and tail.

It was so long we took a piece of sturdy cardboard and covered with white paper. I used Wiltons food coloring gel to color the frosting. A #21 tip. Twizzler for the tongue and Mr. Potato Heads eyes for the snake eyes.

The only thing I wish I had done (if I had more time) I would have put the frosting that I was using back in the frigde for 30 minutes or so to get it to harden up. It got warm while I was squeezing it and then it didn't make the cute stars.

'Sneaky' Snake drinking Root Beer
by: Ca Bla, Columbus, Tx

I made a 'Sneaky' cake numerous times over the years for my kids drinking 'root beer' from the song published ages ago but I used the horseshoe cake pan, cut it up twirled it around, etc. and just poured some chocolate coming out of a root beer can cake. Those kids loved it, one got scare of the red eyes for the snake, used a horrible green color, they liked the creepy color, have to find photos of all those cakes I have made for kids, train was another very popular one made over and over and amazing the different versions.
