Homemade Snake Cake
My husband who has owned snakes and various reptiles for years, usually has his mum (yes even at his age, a family tradition of sorts)make him all various kinds of reptile cakes, but this year she was too busy so I stepped in. I'm not a cook/baker in the slightest, so feeling a little overwhelmed I scanned the web and the first and only site I came into was this one and it gave me the perfect template to make my husband a Snake cake.
I soon found I was spoilt for choice on what design to go for. I used butter cream icing (make loads you will need it, and easier to let it fall from the top to cover sides using a knife to help spread where needed) with mini M&M's and a sour strip for a tongue, which was held up by cocktail sticks.
With the instructions, tips and super photos I found making the cake very easy and a lot of fun. I've just finished it and decided to upload my photo as I'm very proud of my creation.
I look forward to my daughter's birthday and getting some more ideas from here. Although my husband is turning 29, I think he will love this!
