Homemade Snow White Cake

When I asked my daughter which princess she wanted for her birthday cake, I already knew the answer. Snow White cake is a daunting task, the dress intricacies alone.

This was a basic butter cake made in a bundt cake tin. Using a Barbie doll and ready made icing, coloured with powdered food colouring, I sculptured the bodice of the dress. I created the top of the dress a few days before the party and it became hard which worked well if not a little delicate.

I covered the cake in jam then more ready made icing coloured yellow was rolled out to a circle. I carefully laid the icing over the cake and then placed Snow White in the middle. I served it on a tray with coconut grass, ready made icing flowers and a little ceramic bunny. My three year old had her wishing well wish come true.
