Coolest Soccer Birthday Cake

My daughter loves soccer so I made her this Soccer Birthday Cake for her 12th birthday. I baked two 9×13 cake layers. I baked the soccer ball in a 2 cup Pyrex measuring cup. The “ball” is the rounded cake top. The frosting is buttercream tinted green for the grass and pink for the writing.

To make the goal and the “Happy Birthday” signs, I drew the shapes I wanted on a piece of white paper. I put waxed paper over the drawings and piped melted Candymelts (or Almond bark coating) over the drawings. The shapes solidify quickly in the refrigerator.

The leftover candy melts I tinted red and blue. With the red, I piped “happy Birthday” on the two white rectangles. With the blue, I made random squiggles and flowers. It was a big hit!
