Homemade Solar System Birthday Cake

I was asked to make a cake for a 9 year old and this Solar System Birthday Cake was a great idea. I looked around the net and saw some ideas. Nothing that really caught my eye. Then I saw the solar system cake on here.

I made the planets and sun from RKT's covered in fondant. Mixing the fondant corresponding to each color of the system. The sun was RKT covered in icing. I used wooden dowels to put the planets up, but afterthought a thick gauged florist wire would do just fine.

Since I did not want the dowels to show, we pushed them in all the way. Hope this helps anyone interested.
