Homemade Spiderman Birthday Cake
This Spiderman Birthday Cake was actually a very easy cake to make. The base (shoulders) is made out of two 10-inch cakes. To make the shoulders I baked one 9-inch cake (I used the leftover batter to make cupcakes for my son's preschool party) and cut the cake in fourths. I sandwiched two 1/4 pieces together with frosting, froze it and then did a crumb coat/frosted again.
The head is actually a Styrofoam head I bought at a beauty supply store. I frosted and decorated it.
After Sam’s party I made spiderweb cupcakes and placed the head of the cake (all the boys wanted to eat it!) in the middle of a platter and surrounded it with the cupcakes.
