Spiderman Birthday Cake

This was my first attempt at making a birthday cake, and had me worried sick for days. The Spiderman birthday cake itself is a rich chocolate slab.

I decorated Spiderman by cutting licorice into strips to make the outline of the face and features and then piped in between with coloured Vienna icing.

It was a BIG HIT at the birthday party.

I think it looks great for your first time! I just started decorating cakes last year and I have done about 15 since then, but I still get stressed about each one also, fearing I am going to mess it up! It gets a lot easier though the more you do! Wonderful job!
