Coolest Spiderman Cake

My son is a huge Spiderman fan so naturally he asked for a Spiderman cake for his birthday. Since I didn’t have much experience making cakes, I looked around online and brainstormed for an idea that would be really easy to make. I finally came up with the idea above.

I used a regular boxed cake mix to make a 9 x 11 slab cake. Once it was baked and cooled, I cut the bump off to make it flat and flipped it over so I had a nice smooth surface to frost.

I used a regular sandwich bag to pipe on the spiderweb and I used the cut off bump to make the Spiderman head. I had found a picture online of Spiderman, resized it to the size I wanted and printed it out. I cut out the shape of the head and used the paper as a template for cutting the shape on the cake.

I frosted the head and once again used a sandwich bag to pipe on the lines and I used my finger slightly dampened with water to smooth down the frosting on the eyes.

My son loved the cake so much, he didn’t want to cut it at first, he just wanted to stare at it.
