Coolest Spiderman Cake

I made this Spiderman cake for my co-worker’s sons. I wanted the practice before my son’s birthday.

I made an 8×13 cake. I then leveled the top mound of the cake with a $2 leveler I found in my local craft store. Then I put that aside for later. I cut the remaining cake in half leaving two 8×6 inch pieces. I then frosted the top of one, stacked on the other & frosted that. I brought back the mound and used that on top to round out the face.

After all three levels were stacked, I then cut out a face shape and frosted the entire cake. Now I used fondant. I set aside a small piece of the already white fondant for the eyes. The rest of the fondant was dyed red and placed over the cake. I then rolled out the leftover white fondant and cut out eyes. I then placed the eyes on top.

Only thing left was to pipe on the black lines. (Of course my piping was messy because my two year old wanted to tug on me the whole time!)

My co-worker told me that when she brought out the cake after dinner, the boys squealed with delight!
