Homemade Spiderman in the City Cake

This Spiderman in the City Cake was a little difficult and very time consuming. I made the building out of pound cake so they would be sturdier. I just made six pound cakes in a bread loaf pan and cut the tops off them to even them out. I 'glued' two cakes together with frosting and cut them into the shape I wanted then frosted them with buttercream.

I put dowel rods through them so they would stay together and not fall over. I tied white thread to Spiderman's wrist and then to the dowel rod going through the cake. I used parts of cake tops to make the hills in the road. The spiderwebs are just piped icing.
