This Sponge Bob Birthday Cake was a sheet cake that I piped to look like Sponge Bob Square pants. I added fondant pieces that I painted and sculpted for his hand and feet.
First I took black icing to outline the face, belt, and tie. Then I piped small stars to fill it in. After I finished piping the stars I added the arms and legs that I had made the day before. I though the colors turned out spot on how I wanted them to be.
I made this cake for my friend’s son’s birthday. He had his party at his school and they all loved it. I actually have gotten several requests for cakes since this one, even though this was not my first cake, I don’t have any kind of training. I haven’t even taken the Wilton’s classes, but I kind of do my own thing I guess.
