Homemade Spongebob Birthday Cake

I went through a long debate with a five (soon to be six) year old on what kind of birthday cake she wanted. We finally narrowed down between Dora and Spongebob birthday cake. I wanted to surprise her so me and her mother decided Spongebob and we didn't tell her that we chose the Spongebob.

We started with two yellow cake mixes and a 14x9 cake pan. Right from the start I messed up, I tried to dump the cake out while it was still warm. I finally put the pieces back together and made a whole cake again. It was a long tedious process but after six colors of fondant and four hours of team work we finally pulled it off.

Aerial was so excited when she saw her cake for the first time and everyone that seen it had good things to say.
