Homemade Spongebob Cake Design
I made this Spongebob Cake Design for my lil' cousin. This cake is made with a red velvet cake mix, it's what the kid like. I used buttercream icing and fondant to make it. The cake size was 15"x 11" pan. I cut a small part off the lower section so it would fit the board better, also so I could make his shorts.
First I covered the cake with the yellow frosting. Cut two small squares for shorts legs, I iced them as well. Next I dyed and kneaded some fondant. I covered the lower half with the brown, added a strip of white for shirt, and continued to cut out pieces for his tie, collar, socks, eyes, mouth, and eyelashes.
The other parts I molded out of fondant for his shirt sleeves, arms, legs, shoes, cheeks and his nose. His nose also was attached with a small broke in half skewer. Making this cake was really fun! I really enjoyed it!
