Homemade Spongebob Mini Patrick Star Cake
For this homemade Spongbob mini Patrick star cake I used the recipe for cake balls and instead of "balls" I formed stars because I didn't have a cookie cutter that did the job. From there I refrigerated the "cakes" overnight.
I used those melted candies you can buy in bags from Micheals. I mixed pink and orange to get the right shade. I used a Ziploc bag and snipped off the corner in order to pipe the melted candy just right. Then mixed green and blue for his shorts, and blue and pink for the purple, white for the eyes, and brown for his mouth and eyebrows.
I made these for my boss's son's classroom birthday party. They were a BIG hit! I made one different than the others to make it extra special for her son. With the left over cake, I made regular cake balls and placed them around the "Patricks". I wanted to cover the pan with brown sugar to make it look like the beach but I didn't have any and it was too late for me to go out!
