Homemade Spongebob Squarepants Cake

This Spongebob Squarepants cake is a birthday cake I have just finished making. I made it from 2 square sponges, cut it down slightly at the bottom and then stood them up. I used yellow butter cream icing and then made the eyes, mouth, arms , legs, trousers and shirt with sugar paste, and then added final touches with coloured glace icing.

I used a couple of pictures I found on the internet. I find it easy to use a picture of a model of the character rather than a flat picture as you can see the dimensions properly with a plastic model.

This is the first time I have made a Spongbob and I am really quite pleased with the cake. The cake is filled with jam and buttercream.
