Homemade Sports Cake Design
This Sports Cake Design was for a teenage boy who actually wanted brownies instead of cake. I used 2 boxes of dark chocolate brownie mix and prepared as per the directions, poured the batter into my large circle pan and baked as directed. I used canned whipped cream frosting and dyed it with Wilton colors.
After the brownie cake was finished baking, I flipped it upside down onto the cake board while it was still warm. I outlined the picture onto the cake with a toothpick and started piping on the frosting. The warmth of the cake helped the frosting "flood" a little bit making it shiny and smooth.
The cake was a hit, and everyone was surprised how good brownies tasted with the frosting on top!
