Homemade Stadium Cake
This is a stadium cake that I designed as I built it so this is not a replica of anything. I used 9 cakes to build this and after sculpting there was probably a whole cake thrown away.
The infield is fondant laying directly on the cake board. There is a canopy that covers the second deck that was made from gum paste and I found after making them for the second time that they do become very fragile. The difficult level is pretty high but well worth it as an end result.
I used sucker sticks to support the weight of the second deck and the canopy and you can purchase these in the chocolate making section of your cake supply store. I like using them because they go into the cake easier than a wood dowel.
