Coolest Star Wars Millennium Falcon Cake

I used two vanilla sheets carved and crumb coated then added pieces of cake and glued them on with icing to form the shape of the Millennium Falcon. I used a foam core board cut in the shape of the falcon so it would look like it was flying when put on a cake plate stand.

My son is a HUGE Star Wars fan and always picks out his cake, except for this year-I had it all figured out before he even mentioned his birthday. Once it was all carved and crumb coated I covered it with grey fondant and then began 12 hrs of piping in grey royal icing to make all the tubes and wires etc.  I used fondant cutters to cut out circles for the disc as well as the ‘satellite dish’. Once it was dry I sprayed black, silver and red onto the cake to shade it like it was in the movies.
