I made this strawberry cake for my mom’s birthday this year. I used a spherical baking pan and made two half spheres. I waited for them to cool and cut into the middle so that I could insert some strawberry slices into the middle. I covered them with a strawberry glaze and then pushed the two halves together. Then I cut the sphere into a more strawberry like shape.

The frosting was strawberry flavored and I dyed it a little darker for the outside. The leaves are made out of the scrap cake that I cut off of the original sphere. I stuck them on and frosted them green. The seeds are just black icing.

This cake was very fun to make!
