Homemade Strawberry Shortcake 4th Birthday Cake
I made this Strawberry Shortcake 4th Birthday Cake using 4 1/2 cake box mixes (3 layers, top and bottom layers were confetti and the middle layer was strawberry) and a 12 inch round cake pan.
I bought the pink fondant. It's actually called Fondx. and it tasted really good. I dirty iced it with buttercream first and then placed the fondant. This was my first time using fondant, my prior cakes have been all buttercream. I thought it came out pretty good! Everything on this cake is edible except the characters. They are part of my little girl's playsets!
My inspiration was from this cake, it was smaller, so I had to adjust as necessary (my cake feed at least 40).
