This Superman cake is a simple idea, fiddly to do, but looks great! This was made by me for my friend's birthday as he is Superman mad. He is also an adult.

It's two square chocolate sponges covered and filled with chocolate butter icing, Maltesers and M&M's.

The design was marked out from a template using strawberry licorice laces which I left on just for added fun.

This design is perfect for children and adults alike. It just requires a little patience when placing the chocolate around the cake. Time consuming I know, but well worth the effort.

My dad loves Superman and I couldn't be happier to have found this style of cake. I looks great and easier then fondant to make.
