Homemade Swimming Pool Birthday Cake

I made this Swimming Pool Birthday Cake for my son's 11th birthday party. He has a July birthday so it's always a swim party. I made two 13x9 inch cakes and iced them. I cut a rectangle pool out of the center and filled it with Jello (Jigglers recipe) blueberry jello for the water.

I decorated it with candy. The life rings are peach ring candies Market Pantry brand from Target. The beach towels are fruit rollups. The diving board is a graham cracker and the palm trees are pretzel logs with fruit twizzlers on top.

The best part is this cake really held together. I was afraid it would melt in the 100 degree weather, but it looked just like this - until we sliced it!

How big was your pool? How long did you let the jello sit before putting into the cake. Looks great
Thanks
