Homemade Tea Pot Birthday Cake

Homemade Tea Pot Birthday Cake

I made a 14x3 inch round pan iced in pastel yellow for this Tea Pot Birthday Cake. I placed 10 dowel rods in center of the round cake to hold the ball up off of the cake.

The ball is on a 6 inch round cake board. I used the ball cake pan, trimmed tops of both halves, put them together, used dowel rods to hold in place. Iced ball cake pan in star tip 16. I used fondant for the spout and handle, made 3 days in advance to allow to dry.

The fondant is on skewers. Used tip 16 to cover fondant, pushed skewers into cake, finished icing the fondant.

Great Job
by: Donna Gutierrez

Hi, I like the way your cake looks. Very good job. My daughter and I have been making cakes together. when she was little we cooked together all the time. I am in a wheel chair now and was not doing much. She encouraged me to cook again. I forgot how much I love to make cakes until we started again. I love to look on this site at all the neat ideas others have also. Keep on baking, it is good for you and a good way to bring families together. Respectfully Donna Gutirerrez
