Homemade Teacher Cake
My son nominated me to make a cake for his Grade four teacher. Initially I was going to just make a rectangle cake, ice it white and draw on some lines. Well it got away from me and I ended up with this Teacher Cake!
He taught for 36 years, 35 of them in our school district. I was able to use those numbers in a math equation (he is the math teacher) and came up with the number one! I used 2 cookie sheets with rice crispy treats for the "binder" and then covered the treats with blue marshmallow fondant.
The "loose leaf" cakes are 2 9x13 cakes each. One side is chocolate with chocolate fudge filling and the other is white cake with lemon buttercream filling. That way, there is a choice!! I covered them in white fondant. I used edible markers to draw the lines and write the class names. I ended up ripping apart a binder for the spine and the rings.
The apple was pretty easy to make. I made out of rice crispy treat covered with red fondant. I used a leaf tip for the leaf and rolled out a little stem!
