Coolest Teddy Bear Cake

I made this teddy bear cake from scraps during the process of making a first birthday cake in the shape of a number one, 2 cupcakes, and 2 small rounds. It could be made as a cutout as well. I just didn’t want to waste the pieces I had left from my other project.

I assembled the cupcake ears and the two large rounds of the body and head with icing between them along with the squares of cake for the arms and legs. I iced the cake with chocolate store bought frosting and then drew hair onto it with a toothpick. The belly, ears, eyes, and nose are vanilla wafers with frosting on them. The light blue frosting and the tan frosting are leftover buttercream frosting from my other project that I colored.

The tongue is made of redhots, and the pupils are chocolate chips. This was a fun and easy cake to make with minimal effort and time involved. I made this along with a large # 1 for my son’s 1st birthday party. I surprised my wife when I showed her the next day!
