I made this Teddy Bear Cake for my daughter’s third birthday. I made the teddy bear and mini tiered cake out of rice krispie cake. For the bear I made each piece separate and made sure to set them in the fridge so they were firm. Then I covered them in homemade rolled fondant and assembled using wooden dowel rods.
For the mini tiered cake I made mini ribbon fondant roses and added green buttercream leaves. The bears party hat was made out of an icecream cone covered with rolled fondant. The teapot, cups, saucers and spoons are also made out of rolled fondant. I made them in advance and let them air dry. On the teapot I added the flower detail with Wilton icing color.
I made a 12x18inch cake and covered it in green buttercream for grass. Then I made a fondant patchwork quilt put that on then put on the bear, supported by a wooden dowel rod, then arranged the tea set.
