Homemade Three Tier Strawberry Shortcake Cake
I made this cake for my niece's 6th birthday. I got the idea from an old Wilton catalog. Each cake was double-layered to add to the height and the lower one was made out of chocolate, the middle one was white, and the top layer was strawberry. I iced it with buttercream, and added the fondant to each tier individually.
I used the circle, heart, and flower cut-outs for the decorations and dyed some icing green for the leaves. The heart cut-outs were used for the strawberries. This homemade three tier strawberry Shortcake cake was a bit time consuming but pays off in the end... my niece loved it!
