I made this Tie Dye Peace Cake for my hippyish friend. I decided on this cake, because when I was thinking about what kind of cake would best sum up her funky personality, I had it narrowed down to 2 things – tie dye and peace. So I put the 2 together and walla! An awesome tie dyed peace cake!
So first I made the cake batter – I used vanilla so the colors would show up. I split the batter into four parts and mixed each part with a different color. One part red, one yellow, one blue, one green.
When it was done baking I made a peace sign out of white fondant and placed it on top. At that point my really creative friend decided to take food coloring and tie dye the whole peace sign! She used a toothpick, dipping it into each color and sliding it out to get the tie dyed look. She got bored in the middle though and ended up leaving it part done, but kind of on a slant so it looked really cool.
She LOVED it!
