My little cousin just turned 10 this month; she is the biggest Tinker Bell fan ever. I decided I would make her a Tinker Bell cake. After checking online at other pictures of Tinker Bell cakes, I decided to make her this Homemade Tinkerbell and Friends Tree House Birthday Cake.

The base is a yellow cake 12 inch rounds, dirty iced and covered in marble green fondant. I baked the two layers of cake in different pans and bottom layer seemed to taper in as it baked. I stacked them this way because I thought it looked cool. I used about three different shades of green fondant and a little white mixed together to get this color. I left the fondant a little thick, due to it cracking and tearing when rolled out thinner (not sure why I have cracks in my fondant).

The Tree house is 2 chocolate 6 inch round stacked. I did not tort the top cake because I wanted the cone peek look for roof. I made all the gum paste leaves and flowers on the over a week period. The Tree house is covered with brown fondant and gum paste branches. I airbrushed the house with brown color paste and vodka to enhance the color. The top of the tree house is covered with green fondant and all the leaves are glue on with royal icing. I started at the bottom and twirl the house as I slightly overlap each leave. Afterward I used vodka and pearl luster dust for cleanup and shine. All the flowers where individually painted in luster dust to match their color. The two side trees where made from grape vines, dipped in melted chocolate, and covered in green tinted rice crispy cereal. (A suggestion I got online somewhere.)

The name and border is yellow buttercream added just before delivery. Tinker Bell and the Fairies I ordered from the Disney Store online, but everything else is all homemade.
