Homemade Tinkerbell Bithday Cake
This cake was for my friend's daughter who had her 3rd birthday. It was my second time using fondant. I made a lighter fluffier frosting for the cupcakes and used neon food coloring and little daisy fondant cutouts.
For the cake itself I used a basic white cake and buttercream frosting. For the shape of the cake I used a bowl shaped pan. Cut out some fondant leaves, daisy flowers, and made fondant bugs. I also used edible glitter for the flowers and butterflies to make it resemble pixie dust. An edible marker was used for the eyes on the fondant animals. I also made the stand with two cake boards and some Styrofoam and some ribbon.
I added Tinkerbell stickers to the cake boards to go with the theme of the cake. The homemade Tinkerbell birthday cake took me a total of 4 hours to make. But I made flowers, fondant bugs and cupcakes a few days in advance.
