Homemade Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake

This Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake was my first attempt at a Topsy Turvy cake and my first time working with fondant. I first made 4 10in round white cakes. I made 3 8in, and 3 6in white cakes. I used different colors of Wilton icing coloring to dye each of the cakes a different color. I had watched a video on you tube so I had an idea of how to assemble the cakes.

I stacked the 10" cakes first with buttercream frosting between each layer. I cut the slant and did my crumbcoat. I did the same thing for the 8" and 6" cakes. I put them in the freezer so they would be firm before I put my fondant on them. I put Dow rods in the 10" and 8" cakes to support each tier. I put the decorations on once I had the cakes stacked.

I was very pleased with how my cake turned out. Perianna was very pleased with her cake for her 11th birthday!
