This Tow Mater Cake is frosted with butter cream because fondant and I do not get along! I used 2 half sheet cakes and cut off about 2 inches, lengthwise from each cake to make the cab. I did use homemade fondant for the windows, eyes and teeth. I used full size chocolate donuts for the wheels and a reeses candy and kit kats for the engine. I used brown food coloring and on the frozen cake, I painted the rust with a paint brush. I also painted the green on his eyes. For the tow bars I used rod pretzels and licorice ropes.
This cake was so much fun to make and it got plenty of ohhhs and ahhhhs at the party but the birthday boy didn’t want us to cut it up!
