Homemade Train Birthday Cake

This Train Birthday Cake was made by a friend and myself for my son's first birthday cake. We found a very nice cake online and tried to copy it. I think we got pretty close!

The train and cars were made using a lot of cake cut out into the shapes necessary and then stacked. We used homemade frosting and piped the stars on to cover. We used Wilton gel coloring to color the icing.

This cake was not as hard as it looks. We had so much fun. We only matched up the photo. This was the very first cake I had ever helped to create. The hardest part was piping all those stars- so thanks to Becky for piping all them puppies on!
