Homemade Train Cake

I was bound and determined to make my son a 3D train cake for his second birthday. It took about five hours and was so worth it when I saw the look on his face. I used a 3D cake pan and used a pound cake recipe. It only required 3 different icing tips and two different colors which made it easier and less expensive.

I had to use two dowel rods in the engine part of train so it wouldn't fall over in the car. All in all, it was a blast to make and I am already thinking about my next cake.
