I made this Trout Fish birthday cake for a friend using a yellow box cake, vanilla pudding filling and white canned frosting to cover a base coat on the cake.

The fish image came from researching fish, in particular trout, images online. I then drew my chosen image on the cake freehand, and decorated it with #16 and #18 star tips from Wilton. I also outlined the image in green with a #3 tip.

I used Wilton buttercream icing and, since it was a fish cake, opted for blues, greens and browns for the border design, which I just improvised as I decorated. My friend really loved his cake!
