Homemade Turtle Birthday Cake
For my son’s 13th birthday I made him this Homemade Turtle Birthday Cake. He has an app on his ipod that he plays all the time that says “I like turtles”, so I thought this would be a fun cake for his birthday.
He loves chocolate so I began by baking 2 – 8 inch round chocolate cakes and used milk chocolate icing between the two cakes and to cover the cake. Next I used rice krispy treats to shape for the head and legs and covered them in green colored fondant. For the eyes I used two small pieces of brown colored fondant.
Lastly I cut out the shell pieces and placed them along the top of the cake, along the bottom, and rolled out a tail.
