Homemade Turtle Cake
This is the turtle cake I made for my son's 6th birthday. I made it using a soccer ball cake mold for the shell and a special round ball cupcake type mold. I made three of the balls, cut two in half for the feet and used one whole one for the face. This cake was so super easy to make and everyone who saw it loved it.
I used two different color greens, some black and white and red frosting for the face and accents. I first outlined the soccer ball shapes in black frosting then I filled it in with green frosting. I went over the black with a sparkly green gel to add some dimension. I alternated patterns on the shell's green part and used chocolate chips for the eyes.
He's a cute turtle and we all loved eating him, especially my son! Hope it helps give you ideas.
