Homemade Violin Cake

This Violin cake was for a Bat Mitzvah for a good friend's daughter. She wanted the violin color to match her invitations, hence the teal color. I borrowed a real violin to give me an idea on the size and details. The strings are real violin strings that I purchased at a music shop, as nothing I could make would be strong enough to go over the bridge of the instrument.

Everything else is made from gumpaste or fondant. The "music" base is fondant sheets that I handpainted with black food coloring to simulate sheets of music. This was a fun cake to do!

Awesome Job!

This violin looks real enough to play! Amazing details in the music and on the violin. Very creative and I'm sure it was well appreciated by all.
