Coolest Water Slide Cake

I made this water slide cake for my son’s third birthday and he absolutely loved it! I got the idea from the the Wilton website.

To make the towers I used Wilton roll out cookie recipe and using 3-inch round cutter, cut 36 cookies and bake. Cool cookies completely.

Using royal icing between each, stack up cookies.

Each tower is 17 cookies high. Let dry before icing. Cover towers with royal icing, pat with granulated brown sugar and dry.

The cake is made from two Wilton horseshoe pan cakes placed together in a “s-shape”. Generously ice top blue. Add a rippled effect to resemble water. Ice sides brown, then pat with granulated brown sugar.

The happy Birthday message was made from Wilton candy melts. The kids were made from coloured fondant and royal icing.

Position towers (Wilton flower formers iced blue on the inside), slides and kids.
