I made this Westie Dog Cake Design yesterday, a simple sponge cake with icing. The dog was a little harder to decorate than I first thought. I hoped to pipe the hair onto him but I didn’t do that properly so I ended up sticking little white feathers on it but it looked OK in the end.
It was a birthday cake I made for my sister-in-law, their Westie is male so that’s why I made it in blue. I don’t have any cake decorating experience really, I used to watch my mum make her cakes before she sadly passed away ten years ago. Think she would be proud of my efforts.

Thank you for your kind words, It’s my 30th this year so I’m hoping to get on a course I’ve seen, 5 day intense cake making/decorating course. Makes me feel close to mum knowing I have a bit of her talent. My friend is due her baby any day now and I have a great idea for a cot cake with a baby in it so once I’ve done that will, if all goes well I will add it to the site, fantastic site for ideas and inspiration x
